Glenna Ashton, Ph.D., a senior lecturer in the department of speech, language, and hearing sciences, was appointed by Florida Gov. Rick Scott to a three-year term on the Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Mark Bishop, Ph.D., P.T., an associate professor of physical therapy, and Joel Bialosky, Ph.D., P.T., a clinical assistant professor of physical therapy, received the Excellence in Research award from the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy.

Dawn Bowers, Ph.D., a professor of clinical and health psychology, received the 2014 Paul Satz Career Mentoring Award at the International Neuropsychology Society annual meeting in Seattle.

Amy Cantrell, Ph.D., a clinical assistant professor in the department of biostatistics, Brigit Dermott, administrative coordinator in the dean’s office, Carol Mills, accountant/business manager in the department of speech, language, and hearing sciences, and Christa Roberts, business manager in the department of environmental and global health, received UF Superior Accomplishment awards for 2014.

Gwen Creel, P.T., M.H.S., a lecturer and academic coordinator of clinical education in the department of physical therapy, received the 2013 Fred M. Rutan Outstanding Service Award from the Florida Physical Therapy Association.

Steven George, Ph.D., P.T., an associate professor and assistant chair in the department of physical therapy, received the J. Brooks Brown Research Award, given by Brooks Rehabilitation.

Jamie Pomeranz, Ph.D., CRC, CLCP, an associate professor in the department of behavioral science and community health, has been named editor of the Journal of Life Care Planning.

Claudia Senesac, Ph.D., P.T., a clinical associate professor in the department of physical therapy, received the American Physical Therapy Association’s 2014 Outstanding Pediatric Clinician Award.

Susan White, director of public health professional education, was named PHHP’s 2013 Employee of the Year at the annual staff and faculty appreciation dinner.
